Men’s costumes are just as important as women’s in ballet. There are a variety of roles for men in ballet, from hero to villain, and so, there are endless possibilities for costume design for men.

We make several different styles of men’s costumes including flowy poet’s shirts, bolero style jackets for roles in Don Quixote, and jackets with faux vest fronts for roles such as Cavalier in The Nutcracker or the Prince in Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella.

To accommodate the movement required by choreography, the sleeves of the jackets are made on a separate undervest, which is made of a breathable, lightweight stretch fabric. This also allows for easy cleaning and the option to change sleeve styles.

As many roles involve partnering, TutuTheatre is able to design a men’s ballet jacket or tunic that will match perfectly with the ballerina’s costume he is partnered with.
